Why would a huge discount really change their position in the UK. Its not like Sony wasn't also discounting their system. You do not make up that lead in one holiday it takes a hell of a lot more than that including must have games to shift the momentum of a system. Sony still bringing out bangers and people usually get what they friends get so they can play with them or the hottest system. The discount was to stop the bleeding in a way not actually make a real dent in the PS lead.
