Y'know, Youtube's Adpocalypse honestly feels like it's making people wholly dependant only on ads and nothing else that can be offered in this world, and that's both depressing and sad. 

Also, fuck their sponsors if they paid them to shill. I hate that kind of act and wish it was investigated more often and punished, not just on the client side, but the sponsors side tenfold. 

There are other ways to finance a channel, like merch or a Patreon, for instance. But the income from those are generally not enough to keep you going by themselves, so ads are still necessary. Still, those could generate enough additional income to not need to resort to such underhanded tactics.
