PS5 Sells 3.55M, NS and XS Sales Drop - Worldwide Hardware Estimates for November 2023

The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console worldwide with 3,545,869 units sold for November 2023, according to VGChartz estimates. The PlayStation 5 has now sold an estimated 48.93 million units lifetime worldwide.

The Nintendo Switch sold an estimated 1,667,465 units to bring its lifetime sales to 132.91 million units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 1,031,210 units to bring their lifetime sales to 25.37 million units. The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 17,299 units to bring its lifetime sales to 117.17 million units.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2016 are up by nearly 322,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are down by nearly 730,000 units. PS4 sold 3,224,010 units for the month of October 2016 and Xbox One sales were at 1,760,878 units.

PlayStation 5 sales compared to the same month a year ago are up by 1,130,586 (46.8%). Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 189,182 units (-15.5%) and Nintendo Switch sales are down by 1,164,741 units (-41.1%). The PlayStation 4 is down by 14,398 units (-45.4%) year-over-year.

Looking at sales month-on-month, PlayStation 5 sales are up by over 2.31 million units, Xbox Series X|S sales are up by over 619,000 units, and Nintendo Switch sales are up by nearly 799,000 units. It should be noted there are four weeks in October, while there were five weeks in September. It should be noted November included Black Friday, but not Cyber Monday.

2023 year-to-date, the PlayStation 5 has sold an estimated 17.92 million units, the Nintendo Switch has sold 12.55 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 5.64 million units.

PS5 Sales Top 1.7M, NS and XS Fall - Europe Hardware Estimates for November 2023

The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console in Europe with 1,710,324 units sold for November 2023, according to VGChartz estimates. The PlayStation 5 has now sold an estimated 16.20 million units lifetime in Europe.

The Nintendo Switch sold an estimated 521,626 units to bring its lifetime sales to 34.09 million units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 245,131 units to bring their lifetime sales to 6.99 million units. The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 3,398 units to bring its lifetime sales to 45.87 million units.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2016 are up by nearly 453,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are down by over 127,000 units. PS4 sold 1,257,341 units for the month of November 2016 and Xbox One sales were at 372,140 units.

PlayStation 5 sales compared to the same month a year ago are up by 1,264,181(283.4%). Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 30,969 units (-11.2%) and Nintendo Switch sales are down by 255,174 units (-32.9). The PlayStation 4 is up by 756 units (28.6%) year-over-year.

Looking at sales month-on-month, PlayStation 5 sales are up by nearly 1.09 million units, Xbox Series X|S sales are up by over 118,000 units, and Nintendo Switch sales are up by nearly 298,000 units. It should be noted November included Black Friday, but not Cyber Monday.

2023 year-to-date, the PlayStation 5 has sold an estimated 6.69 million units, the Nintendo Switch has sold 3.27 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 1.58 million units.

PS5 Best-Seller as Lifetime Sales Top 20M - Americas Hardware Estimates for November 2023

The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console in the Americas (USA, Canada, & Latin America) with 1,220,787 units sold for November 2023, according to VGChartz estimates. The PlayStation 5 has now sold an estimated 20.25 million units lifetime in the Americas.

The Xbox Series X|S was the second best-selling console with an estimated 686,787 units sold to bring lifetime sales to 14.92 million units. The Nintendo Switch came in third place with 681,481 units sold to bring its lifetime sales to 50.73 million units. The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 5,852 units to bring its lifetime sales to 41.53 million units.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2016 are down by nearly 83,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are down by nearly 491,000 units. PS4 sold 1,303,374 units for the month of November 2016 and Xbox One sales were at 1,178,631 units.

PlayStation 5 sales compared to the same month a year ago are down by 331,212 (-21.3%). Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 173,563 units (-20.2%) and Nintendo Switch sales are down by 591,193 units (-46.5%). The PlayStation 4 is up by 957 units (19.6%) year-over-year.

Looking at sales month-on-month, PlayStation 5 sales are up by nearly 828,000 units, Xbox Series X|S sales are up by nearly 447,000 units, and Nintendo Switch sales are up by nearly 437,000 units. It should be noted November included Black Friday, but not Cyber Monday.

2023 year-to-date, the PlayStation 5 has sold an estimated 6.11 million units, the Nintendo Switch has sold 4.24 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 3.31 million units.

Switch Best-Seller, PS5 'Slim' Boosts PS5 - Japan Hardware Estimates for November 2023

The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console in Japan with 296,326 units sold for November 2023, according to VGChartz estimates. The Nintendo Switch has now sold an estimated 31.40 million units lifetime in Japan.

The PlayStation 5 sold an estimated 231,355 units to bring its lifetime sales to 4.75 million units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 12,603 units to bring their lifetime sales to 0.54 million units. The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 5,378 units to bring its lifetime sales to 9.66 million units.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2016 are down by over 12,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are up by over 11,000 units. PS4 sold 243,420 units for the month of November 2016 and Xbox One sales were at 1,348 units.

Nintendo Switch sales compared to the same month a year ago are down by 218,593 units (-42.5%). PlayStation 5 sales are up by 106,535 (85.4%) and Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 4,765 units (-27.4%). The PlayStation 4 is down by 3,047 units (-36.2%) year-over-year.

Looking at sales month-on-month, Nintendo Switch sales are up by over 13,000 units, the PlayStation 5 sales are up by over 165,000 units, and Xbox Series X|S sales are up by over 4,000 units.

2023 year-to-date, the Nintendo Switch has sold an estimated 3.51 million units, the PlayStation 5 has sold 2.33 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 0.13 million units.
