I don't know if it counts since it's a remake, but if it does then Project Zero/Fatal Frame 2: Wii Edition might be my pick.

Its potent atmosphere and genuine scariness make it a wonderful old school throwback to the PS2 glory days of survival horror, and in a generation where the genre became more focused on jump scares and action, its masterful slow burn was a breath of fresh air.
