It's crazy that after eight years (oh god, it's been eight years?!) and two sequels, the original Splatoon is still the one with the most stable online play and most precise gyro controls. I remember booting this up in preparation for Splatoon 3 and just being mind-blown at how smooth the experience was, playing it on the Gamepad feels perfect, wait times are minimal, and opposing players even get hit when you hit them with your shots! This game was so awesome and unique, it feels kinda nostalgic now, it really was the defining title of the Wii U.
I hope that whatever comes next from the series can have online play and controls as good as this one did.
