35. Megaman X
I was never very good at Megaman as a child. Neither the handheld one I played on my Gameboy, or this game. That didn't stop me from playing it incessantly, constantly trying the robot masters in different orders, trying to beat more than 2 or 3 of them before my lives ran out. I probably would have had a much easier time if I'd known what the password system was. But even inept as I was, I loved this game. The colors and animations were vibrant, the designs of all the bosses were just the coolest and I loved taking their power after beating them and getting to experiment with it. But the best part was the soundtrack, it starts out strong with the highway theme and just gets better in stages like Storm Eagle or Spark Mandrill. I eventually did come back and beat it as an adult but even then the last levels and the boss were no slouch and provided some fun challenge.
