I think some difficult talks are gonna be had Xbox soon, looking to be the second worst Xbox gen and at this point, probably the last,

I'm not sure what it's like in the rest of Europe, but here in Germany, most of my friends that game, do so on PC. If they buy a console, it's usually a PS, because they know they're gonna be able to get Xbox games on their PC regardless, and won't have to wait. It doesn't really make sense to look into buying an Xbox if you've got a good gaming rig. On the other hand, if you wanna play God of War, or Spiderman and not wait for a year or two at least, you go buy a PS.

But MS knows this. It's their own choice to devalue the console in favor of the larger ecosystem, so it's not exactly like they can act surprised when the console sales suffer.

Probably because MS already conceded the console war as Phil already stated. Its not about how much Xbox hardware anymore its about eco system.  Meaning, MS is not looking at just console marketshare as it will take a lot of years to dent Sony dominance.  Its about building an eco system where at some point whether you are on PC, console or mobile, you are using or within MS eco system playing their games or subscribed to GP.  There are many different paths to winning and its not a one way street.  You guys focus to much on one area which can make you blind to overall strategy.  Stop thinking about MS games division as console only because MS has not been console only for a while and they continue to tell you their plan to diversify constantly.
