That's true. Even as a Nintendo supremacist I can't defend that. I tried for like 30 seconds and couldn't come up with anything

You could've actually think first. PS5 is BC compatible with the PS4, making quite easy to upgrade from one to another.

The Switch is not BC with previous Nintendo system and uses a different architecture.

+ it's previous system being a failure with many games that undersold were most likely barely played by most of the Switch username.

So it makes sense from a buisness perspective to port or redux in some cases these games to a mostly new userbase.

Also, what are the first party Wii games ported to Switch sold at full price @Pinkie_pie ? This was common for the WiiU due to previous point but I'm not knowledgeable of any Wii not fully remade brought to the Switch.

thats a good point, i should always try thinking. i think one roadblock in my ability to think is my visceral disdain for the practice of porting games from the previous system to the new system. whats worse is when everyone acts like its a big deal or uses it to pad lists of games that came out for their favorite current gen system.

i dont value the justification that since the wii u flopped, it is therefore ok to port games from that system to a new system. even if we were to go with that, its not like nobody played those games, a lot of them sold quite well on wii u.

also, the original point i was making about all this was in 2014 when they were doing this with ps3 games. i didnt like it when they were doing it and i dont like it when nintendo does it. at least wait 15 years until the game can get a proper remaster, at the very least. even in these cases, nintendo has severely underdelivered. metroid prime remaster should have been 3 games, mario all stars was literally the original games copied and pasted on a switch cartridge. this kind of shit is unacceptable and i hold a company like nintendo to a higher standard than that.
