Yeah when Neo and Trinity are talking in the car, literally took me a few seconds to realize that was game footage and not a movie clip haha. Agreed on that being the first thing I've seen that looks like a full generational leap over last gen. Of course it took photo realistic graphics to get there...which basically means we are at the end of generational leaps I guess haha. A generational leap over that would just be "yeah it looks a little better" haha. If these rumors are actually true, maybe 3D Mario next gen will look close to the Mario movie! |
When I first saw the demo, I couldn't honestly tell what was real Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss and what wasn't either, obviously watching it several times and studying the cuts I can see now which is which, and I can also see when it cuts to real time game play they quality isn't as high, but still the whole thing is jaw dropping.
Also the young Neo and Trinity look so much better than even de-aged actors in movies, lol. 1999 Neo and Trinity look way better than de-aged Harrison Ford in the new Indiana Jones but that's more of an issue of stylistic choice I guess.
If the Switch 2 can do that even with the reflections toned down a bit and the internal resolution even being something absurdly low like 540p (DLSS up to 1440p) ... but the final result is a fairly clean looking image on my TV set ... I'll take that and run.
