Some of my best gaming memories involves split screen play. But, the reality is that it's just not a feature that many people make use of anymore. It's been 20 years since I've used it in any game other than Mario Kart and It Takes Two. Games like those will always need it, and I assume they will always have it. Though I suppose I would have said the same thing about Halo until they ditched it for Halo 5.

Anyway, if it's a question is do I want it or do I not want it, of course I want it. But, the real question is do I want it at the expense of other features. And, the answer to that question is generally going to be no. I just don't use it enough, and I don't think other people use it enough, for it to make sense for developers to invest resources into making a split screen mode work.
