To be fair S has already been lacking parity on alot of stuff. It never had parity on graphical modes (whereas X sometimes has as many as 3 or 4 graphics modes, S often only has a single mode at either 30 or 60 fps), ray tracing (S has raytracing on very few games compared to X), and various other graphics features (many games where things like texture or shadow quality or LoD's were reduced on Series S in addition to the lower resolution and/or framerate). Xbox only had a parity clause for gameplay features, which Xbox was classifying splitscreen as a gameplay feature, though splitscreen never should have been on that list imo as it is something that affects the performance of a console by needing to render the game world twice from two different player's viewpoints, and therefore should have been classified as more of a performance/graphics feature to start with. As long as core gameplay features remain in the parity clause, including online co-op on any game that has co-op, I wouldn't mind at all if splitscreen was removed from the parity clause for all devs.
