For me a lot of great franchises were lost with RARE but Nintendo never really built similar new ones to replace them. Perfect Dark, Killer Instinct, Blast Crops, Banjo etc. Don't really have new equivalents. Would love to see something in this space.

With Nintendo finding success in movie making, be good to see some of the smaller Nintendo franchises get the same treated, even if through tv series (i.e. Star Fox, maybe even little mac lol). The main reason for that is because it will help grow those franchises if done right and help sell the games to a newer generation of gamer. Star Fox needs to evolve too from being on-rails. Take the best elements of each past game, cross if with deep space exploration and land missions and it could become a massive game that takes hours to complete instead of bugger all time. It is the perfect set up for it as you could cheat and have several open worlds, because by landing on a planet you could make an nice cut over with the ship landing whist a full new open world loads up in the background, then that world is a seeming less as a modern Zelda game when exploring it.

Sports game simulators not Mario themed. Would be great to see baseball, with the biggest player in the sport atm being Japanese, now is the time for it, Ken Griffey Jr was and still is one of the best designed baseball games.

Better third party support, hopefully with Microsoft onboard (if the acquisition actually goes through), not only COD but be nice to see some of the RARE IPs make a return on Nintendo, if Nintendo plans not to do anything about creating new ones equivalent to them.

Now onto the hardware (yes I know I know it's about the software). I hope Nintendo makes the game storage cards big enough and cheap to support 3rd party games better, was tired of seeing half arsed games coming out on the smallest size. To tackle the storage issue of a portable device, perhaps finally allow a game card that has say 30% extra space, which allows room for patches and addons, how good would it be if they were stored with each games so can play on any system. If that is too much to ask for, I liked how the WiiU allowed you to backup everything to an external drive, this is something that needs to come back to the Switch 2. Was easy and intuitive to use. However needs enough juice to power a 2.5inch drive.
