Ok, here's what I did a few days ago with my Wii...
It didn't stop reading discs because it fell but it didn't read the Brawl disc... Somekind of overlap there right 
...
So, I sent my Wii... And 3 days later... They sent me a totally new one! I didn't even send a receipt with my Wii... I was just polite and had writen a long (and polite) letter.
(This is Netherlands Nintendo, I don't know how the US part of Nintendo handles these kinds of problems... Or wherever your from...)
Oh, tip:
Put everything you have on an SD-card...
