To play devil's advocate here, gaming is a bit different, because with the live service aspect, many games will see quite a lot of change and expansion over the years to continue keeping consumer interest for long periods of time. Fortnite is only one game. But it's probably the most played game on the planet most days of the year. There is no movie equivalent to that.
