Thought I'd bump this thread in light of new developments:
With 21M Xbox Series X/S units sold, 25M GamePass subscribers from early 2022, it puts the Xbox platform currently around 46M and potentially in the ballpark of 50M - 55M. That's before the inevitable drop of Activision Blizzard on GamePass + Starfield's impact on console sales & subscriptions, which could significantly boost both of those figures.
The PlayStation 5 on the other hand had a monstrous Q1. It has officially shipped over 38M lifetime and Sony is projecting over 25M+ PS5's for FY23. That would put the PlayStation 5 at 63M+ units by March 2024 if Sony meets their projections.
