88 metacritic, 90 opencritic for FF16 so far. That is the baseline that Starfield needs to top in order to win RPG of the year for 2023. Do you think Bethesda can pull it off? They have managed it on Morrowind (89 meta, RPG of the Year for 2002), Oblivion (94 meta, RPG of the Year and Game of the Year for 2006), Fallout 3 (93 meta, RPG of the Year and Game of the Year for 2008), and Skyrim (96 meta, RPG of the Year and Game of the Year for 2011). However, their most recent singleplayer RPG, Fallout 4, got an 88 meta and only came in 2nd place on both RPG of the Year and Game of the Year behind Witcher 3 back in 2015. Does Bethesda have it in them to reclaim their Best RPG throne this time around?

They really took their time on Starfield compared to Fallout 4, which they rushed out with only 2.5 years of full production (mid 2013-November 2015), so I personally think they can pull off a reclaiming of their Best RPG throne with Starfield unless critic bias against them for being an Xbox studio now is extremely high.
