If Nintendo waits a long time for a Switch successor, what do you think will happen?

I love the Switch, but I doubt it will sell much more from here onwards. I recall Nintendo a few weeks ago mentioned that they predict the Switch to sell less than 15 million units by next fiscal year? If that’s the case Nintendo will decline if they don’t release Switch 2 soon.
