Sony acquiring CD Projekt seems very unlikely to me. While CD Projekt's stock value did fall alot after the Cyberpunk debacle, it would still cost approximately $3b to buy them, and while Sony does have roughly $14b cash on hand right now, more than enough, $3b for any single studio just isn't a wise investment imo, especially not one that specializes in singleplayer games rather than GaaS like CD Projekt, meaning you only get bursts of strong monetization on certain years, rather than a steady consistent stream of high revenue. $3b for CD Projekt is just not worth it when you can get an entire publisher like Ubisoft or Sega or Koei Tecmo for only a bit more than the $3b it would cost to get CD Projekt (Ubisoft is literally only worth about $500m more than CD Projekt right now and you get a huge amount of developer resources and a huge catalog of IP, whereas CD Projekt is much smaller in everything from developer count to IP library). The only reason I can think of for Sony wanting CD Projekt so badly they would be willing to pay $3b for them, is if they want GOG to break into the PC gaming market stronger and end reliance on Steam and Epic Game Store for their PC ports.

If it happens though, I truly hope they negotiate for multiplatform releases like Bungie did during the acquisition talks, would truly suck to see Witcher go PS exclusive when it is one of my favorite RPG series.
