Its not an unpopular opinion.

Its actually quite more popular than you would think, just a minority of people who hate it.

As for me - I love it, its one of my most favorite aspects in both BotW and ToTk.

It makes you strategize with a limited inventory, instead of fighting head to head - you can do other stuff that you wouldnt do normally.

Besides when you progressed enough into the game, it really doesnt matter because you'll always be overflowed with weapons and other equipment.

If you were to ask me what the first thing that came to mind on why I rate BotW as my most favorite Zelda - its the weapon durability system.

it's actually not a popular opinion. i'm sure if both games didn't include it would still be your favorite zelda. for some people it's a deal breaker.

BOTW and TOTK are two of the highest rated and most beloved games in recent years, BOTW sold over 30 million copies, and TOTK sold over 10 million in three days, I think it's fair to say that enjoying its core gameplay loop is a popular opinion.
