I watched the video, and he said about how losing the previous generation affects this generation, that already existing gaming libraries and how it affects your choice of console when you go to a mall buying a console, and it is just not true. They said some of the Series S owners were newcomers, and the Switch had to start its library from 0 but still managed to succeed, so this is def not true.

I disagree.  If you bought a PS4, why would you not get a Xbox over the PS5.  The same games you were invested in that are exclusive have come out or is coming out on the PS5.  Not only that but those games are all hitting a damn good amount above weight as I like to say meaning they are reviewing well and also looking great.  People keep using the switch, but Nintendo already sold a crap ton of software and hardware but the real difference is the space Nintendo find themselves in.  Since the Switch is the only mobile console and Nintendo still have their first party games you can only get on their system not to mention the price is not at the same level as Sony and MS console, Nintendo sits at a perfect position.  For the most part, Nintendo has pretty much sat between MS and Sony as the secondary console between the 2.  Meaning most gamers will have a PS and Nintendo console or an Xbox and Nintendo console but not really a PS and Xbox console because they pretty much share the same games.

Most gamers do not understand that these large corporations have people that analyze the market constantly and also monitor consumers habits. The main thing is that you believe Phil is wrong only because the amount of data that is available to you is limited.  Phil was right that the Xbox one set them back big time and basically destroyed the momentum the 360 had coming into that generation.  I remember the excitement people had concerning the Xbox one before release but then it all blew up with concentration on things other than gaming.  Then MS made the mistake of bundling Kinect with the Xbox one with a 500 bones price tag with lower specs than the 100 dollar PS4.  It crippled the whole generation for them and it took just about everything to claw back any decent market after that screw up.
