I mean what magical marketing did Mario have? They just marketed it through standard "Hollywood blockbuster" marketing channels. You can do a Superbowl trailer release for example, Nintendo already had Zelda in a Superbowl commercial for the Switch.
The marketing is not what is going to take the movie to big box office, it's the love of the IP that a very sizable group of people have, and they will take their kids, friends, family members, etc.
That's where you're going to see the enthusiasm come from. A Zelda movie just has to be a celebration of the games just like Mario has been and I think the box office will be huge.
There's a void of fantasy film IPs as well with Harry Potter and LOTR vacant for the time being, Zelda has a good sized window to make some real hay. People are getting tired of superheroes to some degree, Nintendo's IP are going to clean up I think because they can slide right in and cover fantasy genres and become event movies as a result.
