IGN: The game looks really good on Wii. What are you most proud of technically/visually speaking?
Trey: Thanks very much for the compliment. Our Art and Art tech teams are very good at what they do and all very excited to be working on something that is "outside of the box" so to speak. It's really allowed each of them get their creative juices going and to add their own unique stamp to their work. I think the results speak to their passion and pride for what they do. Honestly, I'm really proud of the quality of all of our visuals. It only takes one crappy texture, particle effect or animation to bring the whole house down and I think we're very strong across the board. One of the first knocks against Wii titles, especially when they have PS3 and 360 cousins, is that the visuals are going to take a significant hit. Well, our guys accepted the challenge and set out to use what we had to work with and push it to where it has never gone before. They made some very smart decisions early on with their unique stylization of the characters and environments and they've been getting better and better ever since.
IGN: Nintendo fans are still waiting for the Wii equivalent of Punch Out! Is FaceBreaker it?
Trey: In spirit, that has certainly been one of our main goals from the very beginning. We're all huge fans of the Punch-Out series and love and respect it for way too many reasons to count. But in practice, Punch-Out was essentially a single player puzzle game and we wanted to deliver much, much, more than just that. We've got a solid single player mode that is very similar to and inspired by games like Punch-Out, but we knew that we needed more than just a 12 character ladder tournament that took a couple of hours to complete and then you're done with it. We want to make sure you get your money's worth with FaceBreaker K.O. Party and I think we have.
IGN: Any final words for Nintendo fans anticipating the project?
Trey: We've really poured our heart and souls into making FaceBreaker K.O. Party the "ultimate multiplayer game" on the Wii. Designed and developed by Wii gamers, for Wii gamers, and delivering on what Wii gamers want and deserve to play. It is our hope that FaceBreaker K.O. Party ends up right next to Wii Sports on your shelf and is added to your regular rotation of games to play when friends come over and want to game it up on the Wii. Thanks IGN!
