Bold of you to assume the fanbase cares. Pokémon is the most IP review proof right now. I don't think people even care if the games are good or not, it is more about the brand and having fun.

Plus, it’s not like S/V are like Sonic 06 or Aliens Colonial Marines. Apparently despite the glitches, bugs, graphics, etc., the games are pretty much what a lot of fans have been hoping for in regards to the open world and the gameplay. Not excusing the rough patches, but as you said, if fans are having fun with the games, that’s kinda all that matters in the end.
