You can actually grow Tomatoes on Italian soil outside, southern Italy produces a lot of Tomatoes. Pineapples not so much though. Italy does produce tomatoes, but imports basically all of its pineapples. You can grow them indoors, but not outdoors since Pineapples don't do well with drought or cold.
