That's cool. I love HP so the idea of a great HP is very appealing. I just haven't looked into what the gameplay is like yet. But it is always concerning when a game is made for the consoles and then ported to the Switch rather than built for the Switch itself, which I'm assuming is the case since the Switch version is delayed by several months. Hopefully they are taking the Switch version seriously and not just treating it as a secondary version like sometimes happens. The fact that they didn't bother to align the launches has me worried though because that's sort of by definition means they kinda viewed the Switch version as secondary since a late launch won't be nearly as big as the initial launch since the hype of the game's initial release will be gone and many people will have already gotten it on other systems. I have very few new big 3D third party games on Switch because they generally don't even come to Switch or are muddy downgraded ports rather than actually built to run well and look good on the system. Hopefully this one is great. |
Don't expect too much. Series S performance mode is 792p with an unstable 60 FPS. Switch version running at 720p (docked) and a stable 30 FPS would already be a bit of a surprise. |
Well if I dare to do an apples to oranges comparison, Nier Automata runs at 900p with a non-stable 60fps on PS4 but 1080p at a very stable 30fps on Switch.
If they put the effort in it, they can do a great stuff.
