Guess they didn't want to look like they ripped off Nintendo Direct entirely so instead of calling it Xbox Direct it's called Developer Direct, Lol.

It'd odd not to include Xbox in the branding though, the name is a bit bland as well.

Love that it's a new initiative from Xbox to offer information on upcoming games more frequently outside of major events, it's literally sounding like a clone of Nintendo Direct in almost everyway.

Why is Zenimax Online Studios there? They usually have their own event for ESO updates, hmm.

No Starfield really sucks, I'm fully convinced it is delayed to Holiday 23 now, unless this "marketing beat" is very soon after Developer Direct - Maybe they're also taking note of how Sony has some State of Play's specific to a single title so it'll be called "Developer Direct: Starfield" for example?

January 25th...Was hoping for sooner.

They have announced 5 out of their 6 ESO expansions in January, so it does match with historical precedent for them. Guess Bethesda decided this Developer_Direct, which is even the same week of January that High Isle and Blackwood were announced, is the perfect time to announce ESO's 7th expansion.

Definitely too soon to be Project Kestrel being announced, it only began development in 2019 with a smaller team at their Maryland Studio, with the new San Diego studio for the Project Kestrel team not opening until 2020. If it's an MMO or MMO lite type game we are looking at a 5 year plus development cycle for a new IP, which would put release in 2024 at the soonest, with 2025 being more likely.
