Only thing I can recommend is a desktop. I don't see a point in a gaming laptop given the exception if you're just never home.

I need my laptop for work and can't currently afford having both a high-end work laptop (as in, big CPU, good screen and large memory) and a new gaming PC on the side. Since those laptops tend to come with a gaming GPU anyway, I generally just choose one with a somewhat better GPU (3060/6600M or better) and bigger storage so I can do both with one machine.
