Do you have any proof for this? There's plenty of "hardcore" games on the Wii (Metroid, NMH, Zelda, SMG, etc.) yet I don't see people selling their Wiis in droves.

lol. And DQ IX is a step back because the DS is weaker than the PS2...right? And Megaman 9 is a step back becasue it's 8-bit? Really, it's not about the graphics. It's about expanding the audience.

i just don't think square will gain something more than just a lot of sales of this particular game.

And it does not matter on which console they will release it. But there will always be people who will buy a console just for that remake. (then the wii is ofcourse the cheapest option for us gamers)

I'd hope so.

Otherwise someone could say "I don't think PS3 will get FF7, because if it did a meteor would crash into Japan destroying the world... and Square sells it's games to the world. So they need those people alive."

without being called on it.
