It finally happened.

A true David and Goliath fight, and at long last the giant has fallen. If you suggested it back before the Switch launched, or even in its early years, you'd have been laughed at and called delusional.

The story of the Switch has been one long sequence of smashing expectations and overcoming the odds, and this latest milestone is one more gem in its crown.

To me it's more the tale of two consoles that overcame their lacklustre predecessors, one by accepting that while exotic hardware may be fine for AAA first party games that have the time and budget to utilise that hardware, for 3rd parties that same time and effort formula equals minimum required effort games, now while the domination of the preceding PlayStations helped alleviate the problem the same could not be said for the PS3 with it's slow sales and strong 360 competition so Sony finally having an engineering team listening to the people that produce the software leading to a strong rebound in the form of the PS4 was good, but alas for every good thing comes a bad thing in this case a certain CEO by the name of Jim Ryan, in Nintendo's case it was one of combining both sides to produce a Hybrid console that while new and fresh they now have a base that is less reliant on having to find the next new thing unless that new sales boosting thing was covid 😊(joke)😊
