The game when Konami decided "let's turn Castlevania into Metroid" and suddenly became co-credited with creating a genre.
Ahem. Symphony of the Night is great. There's not much I feel I can say about it that is personal or inherent to my experience, this is an established classic and I only think of it as such. That is to say, it never touched me on a personal level, but I really respect its quality. And especially the quality of its soundtrack. Whenever I try to think of something to say about this game, it's about how much I disliked the second half of it, where it really felt like they had no content left to offer and just resorted to endless padding instead. And the endings were all disappointing, to make matters worse. But everything up until that point is just amazing.
