I don't give a sh*t about rich people, as you call them, but this is a problem that affects more than just the high end.

If the xx80 card gets a price increase, then the xx70 will also follow suit because otherwise the xx80 wouldn't be attractive from a price/performance point of view. And if the xx70 rises its price, so will the xx60 and xx50 cards for the exact same reason. So it's not just the xx80 price going up that is the problem, but the fact that they carry the whole stack with them, hurting mid-range and low-end consumers as well.

I care, because if the rich buy X product, then Y company starts raising the prices, and the rich don't seem to see money as an object, so they carry on dealing with those raised prices, meanwhile ppl like me are priced out and have to wait for companies like Nvidia to grow a conscience and realise they are leaving a chunk of customers behind.

I've been watching this for years, not only for Nvidia, but the AAA market as well, I'm being priced out of AAA's now more than I was a decade ago, and same goes for hardware now. I've got a choice, either pay my bills, or not pay my bills in order to somewhat afford decent hw, that's not really a choice now is it? (retail really don't pay for everything, just to let you know).

This is why I only play retro titles and indies for about a decade now on PC.
