@dane007 with digital game 'rentals' I mean having to stay subscribed to have access to 'your' games. You don't own anything on ps+. Which is where games with gold has an advantage over ps+, afaik you get to keep those? Oh that's only for 360 games, it's something at least. I do know that when I'm not signed in (and not on my primary console) I can't start any ps+ game. So it's a rental, no access when you stop paying.

PS Now started with PS3 games as a sort of alternative to the lack of BC between ps4 and ps3. It wouldn't make sense to allow you to download the games as the ps4 can't run them anyway. With the inclusion of ps4 games it's only in Sony's interest that you download them and run them on your own hardware instead of using up server time. No idea if Game Pass pressured Sony into making downloads available or merely their accountant :p
