People don't always know what they want, let alone what they need. Look at the Wii, who on Earth would have said they needed that? Yet Nintendo built it and here we are. The internet is also home of the vocal minority, the small group of people who complain the loudest yet make up the smallest percentage of customers. It's like how the whole internet seemed to bag the Wii for its graphics. Frankly, the silent majority didn't care, at least that's what the sales show.
Nintendo's strength has been to pick fairly well when it should listen and when it should stay its own course. Whie the main Zelda games did revert to a more realistic look, the DS Zelda did not. The problem with Sony and Microsoft this generation is that they are trying to tell customers what they should want, even when all of the evidence points the other way,
