Wizardry IV - and they'll have to play it blind, as in, not looking for some guide online. Good luck.

Spoiler!
For those who don't get it, Wizardry IV: The return of Werdna is often considered the hardest game in the world. Even expert players who know the entire game by heart have to restart the game often because it's so damn difficult, unfair and getting unlucky just once can easily doom your playthrough - and while you can save freely anytime, you can't save scum, as it resets the entire level every time you load a level, and it saves at every single button press. Just read through the Let's Play linked above and see just how nearly impossible it is to finish the game already if you know everything, so imagine going in blind, especially with all the spaells having non-standard names...

Spoilering this as well.

Spoiler!
Robert Sirotek was apparently upset at the designers for making the game so damn hard. He said later that there weren't enough players who liked that batshit level of complexity and difficulty to commercially justify continue going in that direction, for all the people who claim that games were "dumbed down" in subsequent years.
