Looking back on MGS4 and even 5, yeah, both of them had pretty cringe moments and dialogue.
5 especially more so because of the whole Skull face sitting in the hummer scene, or the "such a lust for revenge...WHOOOO" (which got me laughing more than thinking it serious), or any scenes with quiet in them (especially Kojima's cringe explanation for how she can breath).
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
