Doubt it. Japanese for like to praise themselves for making smaller games with not too much ambition, And Japanese gamers like it as well. I think it's something cultural for them. They don't have our desire to always have "bigger, bigger, bigger" games every generation
Besides, when a studio try to get bigger projects and graduate their teams the result is atrocious, thinking about Platinum, their record of failed projects amuse me
