So now we are going to see it going from 1M to 50M since it isn't locked to previous users through their site right?

No lol. Majority of PC users that would've gotten a Steam Deck most likely already have one. I do and it's freaking amazing. Although I primarily use it for emulators right now lol. I think at the very most, 10M in its lifetime for the current model. And I'm probably being overly optimistic.

Steam Deck is primarily meant as a compliment to your current gaming PC. Not as a replacement to your current gaming PC or console.

Valve has a very nice niche platform now that they can build off of going forward. Which they've already said they plan to add more power down the road.

One thing's for sure though, Steam Deck may be the most consumer friendly tech product ever made. Outside of something like Raspberry Pi.

Yep 10M would be a very big achievement. Even dedicated systems, being sucessor of successful ones had hard time reaching 10M. With losses on hw and lack of sw out of the way this amount (or even 5M) shouldn`t be big issues.
