Well, most games run a whole lot better on the Steam Deck, so if you don't mind the ginormous size of the device, it's the better choice. Plus the games are generally a whole lot cheaper than on Switch. And online services are free. And better.
There really are a whole lot of advantages. I still like the Switch though. Especially my Switch Lite. It's tiny and much better for travelling. Both devices are simply for their own crowd and I think they can coexist quite wonderful. Of course the Steam Deck will never even remotely match the sales of the Switch. But it doesn't have to. The platform here is Steam, not the Steam Deck itself.
Anyway, the Steam Deck is a great addition for every player and we should all be happy that it's out there. It doesn't "destroy" the Switch or anything. It doesn't even directly compete. So chill.
