I hardly bother with AAA games these days anyway. They are either too expensive for me, too stupidly large in file-size, come with loaded DRM, demand I install another fucking client just to launch them, come with MTX, season pass and battle pass crap, always online shit. AAA's have basically been morphing into the stuff I hate in gaming, and it's why I've largely shifted over to indie games, cheaper, fun and easy to mod, less DRM, no extra launchers needed, etc. AAA gaming won't go back to the early 00's days, all the bad practices that make them what they are today are never really going to go away. |
Same for me, the last AAA I bought were Dragon Age: Origins and Might & Magic X some 10 years ago. I could feel even back then that the industry was moving in a direction that didn't fit well with me in the slightest.
That being said, I still game on a 1050Ti, and it's getting limited even in indies now, so something new must come in. But something like a 3060Ti/RX 6700 would be amply enough for me and wouldn't overtax my power bill or overheat my room.
