Not sure. Fifa games and the like got releases on platform that was already 2 gens off, I think there was enough money on the table for it. Sales will tell =p

My guess is games like those are a special case where they keep selling well enough on old hardware due to sales in the developing world and among poor people for it to be worth it. It's like how Just Dance kept selling enough on the Wii for it to worth it for a long time with Just Dance 2020 being the last one that had a version for it.
