I can understand for the cheaper models but why the fuck would you use the top end models without a dedicated gpu

It's probably more for business clients. Not needing to buy an entry-level GPU anymore can count for a lot of cash, and certainly did hamper AMD during the chip crunch, so they wanted to emphasize that this ain't a problem anymore.
