Okay I just commented about this in the post above but come on. Nintendo re-released every 3D Zelda game at least once, two of them with an art style that no one in their right minds would consider realistic, and the latest two featuring new amiibos and locking features behind them. Skyward Sword HD is selling for $60, which is more expensive than the original version released 10 years before, and is a lazy remaster with next to nothing in terms of changes or improvements. In fact its controls are more clunky and imprecise than the original's. At least with The Last of Us remake they're putting in some effort to make it actually look nicer. Whether it's worth it or not is up to the consumer. Yeah they do it because they know they'll profit from it, but at least they're making a better version of the game. Meanwhile in the world of Nintendo they seem to have a lazy re-release ready to fire up at every moment, turn in a huge profit selling it for $60, and also put the game on their glorified emulator while charging people extra money for it. Greedy companies are greedy. It's got nothing to do with realism in videogames. |
They are all guilty for it the same practice. The issue is companies strike when the iron is hot. They see people will brainlessly buy anything if it looks good.
The point is that when Zelda went for the Graphic fidelity with Twilight, it turns out to be the version that has aged the poorest. Coincidence?
TLOU Remake and these Zelda ports should not be charged full price. Iv seen PC games get more visual upgrades and offered free than most modern re-releases charging top dollar.
