I'm excited to try it, because even in a worst case scenario, at least I get to try the full game for free, and it won't be like with Diablo 3 where I had to pay $60 for servers that wouldn't work Day 1, a pretty shitty game once you managed to get in, and that $60 investment wasn't saved until I dropped another $20 for the Reaper of Souls expansion, which did salvage the game and turned it into a good one. |
Yea, and I mentioned the same thing to someone else who was against microtransactions in any game that the benefit of free games is that you don't pay a penny to play it until you feel like you want to give them a penny.
Having said that, I wonder how Diablo Immortal will impact Lost Ark since a lot of Lost Ark's basis is designed to attract the whole D&D and Diablo crowd (which it seems to be doing a good job at based on its continued player counts).
