When I was 12, we went to East Germany and East Berlin the year after the fall of the Berlin Wall. We toured a Soviet war museum in East Berlin. To hear them tell it, the Soviets single handedly crushed both Nazi Germany and the Empire of Japan while the British and Americans were still training their troops.
