As a fan of both games this announcement is super exciting. Particularly cause I'd like to have a great console version of the second game which is one my all-time favorites. It's also relieving to hear that Remedy themselves are going to be handling the development, specially after the GTA remaster fiasco.

Hopefully this release will be successful and we get a continuation to the series made by Remedy as well. If that were to happen I'm guessing they'd disregard Rockstar's MP3, which is good game on its own but I wouldn't have a problem with its plot being retconned out of existence.

True I'm happy its making a come back and in a full remake. And MP2 being the higher budget one. They did pretty well with Alan Wake Remaster so I have high confidence Remedy will deliver here.

But yeah I'd settle for anything new. And I didn't mind the story for MP3. It was fine.. however there's not much to go from the ending from the third game. Maybe they'll continue from 2 should Rockstar plan to bring the series back. Maybe they are testing waters to see how well the games sell.. or even have one already planned *fingers crossed*.

Really liked both games, which I cannot say for 3rd one. I hope they keep them close to originals.

I get that its a different kind of game and setting (not noir as such). Though I loved Rockstars MP3. The shooting and gameplay in that was absolutely sublime and story was decent. I'd go as far as to say its one of the best TPS out there and one of my all time favourites; same with the other games. Which I have bought several times on different platforms over the years lol. The only thing I didn't really like was the unskippable cutscenes.. but that was to cover load times. Each to their own I guess heh.

You and I park our shuttles in the same bay, lol. I agree with pretty much everything you said, including MP3. The story in the third game was simply not as good as the first two and it's probably because the writer is Dan Houser from the GTA series instead of Sam Lake. Even then, the gameplay is really, really good. As someone who tends to avoid games in First Person, I'm really into TPS games and MP3's gameplay really delivered on taking some cues from the originals like the painkillers and the bullet time but also adding some modern cover mechanics.

My favorite mission in MP3 is actually the Panama yacht mission. Great action and the story is pretty much unrelated to the nonsense in the main story. Oh and yeah, let's hope these remakes are a success so we can get another game. I could use more Max Payne game in my life!
