There's also the question of the drivers. Are they optimized to show a stronger than real performance in synthetic benchmarks, or is it that the drivers aren't mature enough and that causes it to perform worse than it should? Time will tell.

I hope for the latter, but knowing Intel's history, I fear for the former to be true.
