In March RTX Ampere gained another 1.6 percentage points (from 12.8% to 14.4%) while RDNA2 almost stagnated (from 0.58% to 0.60%), which would have been a ridiculous ratio of 24:1.

So I eventually decided to add the 1.65% "AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics" to RDNA2, which brings the ratio down to 6.4:1 in favor of Ampere.

I'm very sure that most of the unspecified GPUs in that category are RDNA2 GPUs like RX 6400, RX 6500M, RX 6500 XT, RX 6600M, RX 6600, RX 6600 XT (all of them launched last year or at January 4th).

Almost 30% of the Steam hardware base are now RTX Turing + RTX Ampere cards. Together with RDNA2, almost a third of the Steam hardware base are now basically raytracing-compatible.

But since RTX 3050, RTX 3050 Ti, RTX 2060 and many RDNA2 GPUs will have problems with activated raytracing, only GPUs RTX 2060 Super / RX 6700 XT and better are fully raytracing compatible IMHO.

With this raised bar, almost 20% of the Steam hardware base are now "fully raytracing compatible:

Windows didn't lose its dominance so far for Steam gamers... over 96.5% seems to be a new record.

77.34% of the Windows systems / 74.69% of all surveyed Steam systems are running Windows 10 (64-bit).
17.44% of the Windows systems / 16.84% of all surveyed Steam systems are running Windows 11 (64-bit).

Since I want to track the Steam Deck, I took a closer look at the 1% Linux systems.

SteamOS ain't showing up in the most popular Linux versions, will be in the 42% category "others". But AMD VanGogh is showing up in the Linux GPU chart with 0.54%:

So surveyed Steam Decks are so far 0.0054% of the total Steam hardware base.

The last announced MAU was 132 million users. 0.0054% of that would be only 7158 surveyed Steam Decks.

The unreported number will be much much higher, so the next hardware survey will be interesting.
