I would not say that it has become less relevant, rather that people are just more concerned with the loss of civilian life and potential WW3 on the horizon because of the wretched invasion. |
There are still over 5,000 people a day dying from Covid-19 and 1.8 million new infections a day (those that are still testing) world wide. Everyone can get it, plus it's still disrupting many people's lives and has created enormous backlogs of surgeries and other medical issues.
The Russia invasion will move to the background as well when the next celebrity scandal hits or whatever. People's attention spans aren't very long.
Current civilian fatalities in Ukraine are around 4,000 (oficial count) which is of course very bad but still dwindles in comparison to Covid-19 and is still far less than the prior wars in Ukraine nobody remembers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Russo-Ukrainian_War
