U.S. House Votes to Strip Russia's Most Favored Nation Trade Status

Underscoring the broad support for hampering the Russian economy, the House passed the measure in a 424 - 8 vote. The bill would also strip most favored nation status for Belarus, a close ally of Russia.

If the U.S. removes Russia’s “most favored nation” trade status, it will allow the country to slap fresh taxes on a range of Russian goods. The White House has worked in concert with European Union and G-7 allies, many of which have started to take their own steps toward suspending normal trade relations with Russia.

That voting margin is quite something given the highly partizan nature of US politics. I curious who the 8 who voted against it are.

Edit: They are Republican Representatives Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Matt Gaetz of Florida, Chip Roy of Texas, Andy Biggs of Arizona, Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin, Dan Bishop of North Carolina and Thomas Massie of Kentucky.

I'd guessed MTG and Gaetz might be among the 8. Had forgotten about Boebert but she is also par for the course. I'm unfamiliar with the other 5.

Doesn't seem like all of the 8 have the same reasoning. Boebert does seem to be pushing her usual nonsense. Roy has more qualified reasoning. None of the others are directly referenced, although MTG is mentioned as having previously pushed a pro-Krelim position regarding Russia's invasion.

Most of the usual House reprobates. I'm shocked as hell Paul Gosar didn't join these 8.  Almost anytime there's a shitty cause to back in Congress, Gosar is right on it. And as an Arizona resident, I wish to God I wasn't represented by Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar.
