Why are people saying "fully open world"? Did I miss some information confirming this or are we just guessing from the trailer?

The game is described pretty explicitly as a fully open world on the official website

While I don't care much about visuals from a technical perspective, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a higher standard from a franchise as huge as Pokémon. I watched the trailers for Xenoblade 3 and Breath of the Wild 2 afterwards, and the difference in quality is quite noticable to say the least.

Game looks terrible. A game ported from Nintendo's last generation, inferior platform from 5 years ago... Aka. Breath of the Wild is technically more impressive.

I think we should all expect and demand better considering the insane revenue Pokemon brings in... End of the day we are human beings and we are very driven by our senses such as sight and sound.

Oh now come on, everyone knows using visual aids in online arguments is CHEATING!

In all seriousness, the game does look like a substantial technical step up, but it could definitely stand a bit more polish.  I'm confident the performance will be cleaned up, but I do also hope beyond hope that there's voice acting.  Probably setting myself up for disappointment, but given Pokemon has decided to be dialogue heavy and how much more they animate their cutscenes when they do them, the silence is just really awkward.
